They’re really good! They also have some great look tier which is actually really tempting to try

Yeah, I was wondering how good these would be (I suspect Lava might have ruined me for other torts).  :)

Currently trying to pair with shoreline gold and am in the toss up between black-white and black-cream. #firstworldproblems

Haha yes I know what you mean re Lava…

This is a CS built by Yuri Shishkov. I’m getting highly tempted by the tort…

Ok so the Vibramate arrived this week

Pretty happy and it actually feels good with 9s compared with the 10s it had pre-Bigsby. It’s also not as ugly in real life than in pics

Jury is still out on pickguard and pickups but I’m moving in the right direction. I have a decoboom tort guard en route so we’ll see how that feels

I really can't remember, did i make the plate or did you supply it with the other parts

It was well before cabronita parts were common... but if I made it I might still have the template somewhere

I know I made a blue sparkly one before that definitely used the template i have here, which I think is a bit shorter than the Fender versions.

I'm honestly not sure tbh! I don't think I bought one, but not sure whether you did :D It does look the same shape as the Fender ones though, so I'll see how the new one fits. Cutting pickguards is yet another skill I don't have but want to learn, so maybe I'll make my own black one if I decide the tort isn't the right colour or fit.

Pretty sure I did along with the control cover before sending it across to you to finish - I’d made quite a few Cabs by that point but this was the sole thinline one. I doubt I’ve got the template still though as Jooky ended up buying most of my kit off me when I closed the workshop in 2013.

The Decoboom guard arrived. It’s not bad, and really quite good after some sanding, smoothing and ageing of the edges. Not Lava-good but def better than Fender CS tort.

I don’t love it on the guitar though.

I do have a black one on the way to try as well, which I think will be ace. And if not I’ll keep it without guard for a while as I’m getting used to that.

And @Wezv you remembered well - 2 holes lined up well, subject to a little fettling of the pickup cutout, but the bridge-side holes are both a good 5mm off. I’m not drilling anything at this stage…

Black guard now in place. I’m not sure if I like it or not yet but will keep it at least a few days

Either way it’s a nice guard though - Warmoth 3 play, aged by yours truly

I think that looks great. Wouldn't change a thing.
