Electronics theory for guitarists

This is only my second post here and quite a weird one for a guitar forum, but this video might help explain some of it.

It looks like a guy stood next to a big metal contraption, because it is, but he does a neat job of explaining how a bunch of tones add up to something else, with a practical demo.

It's entirely mechanical here, but the electronics are doing the same thing.   In digital music it all gets analysed-synthesised, in analogue it doesn't.
