Has anyone replaced their genuine Fender decal?

Just bear in mind that if the guitar is a few years old there'll be a visible, lighter "untanned" area where the original decal was, which the new, properly-aligned one won't cover

Would the wood tan, or just the lacquer?

I'm a proud owner of a Fender TE E STER courtesy of a headstock tuner.

I didn't really think about how delicate the decal is when it's applied above the finish!

As far as I can tell though, the guitar sounds and plays the same as it did when the logo was in tact.
    Wasn't that a limited run of Teisco-caster's?

Partially intact or wonky logos don't make a guitar play any worse ... I really don't get it.

@Voxman 's Strat is gorgeous and original and has had a 'life' wonky stuff is character and 'honest' ... if I'm buying, replaced logos will always set my alarm bells ringing.and get me asking what else about the instrument is a bit moody?
Very kind of you to say. I only play it at home now or at friends houses and retired it from gigging around 2006 simply because value was getting silly. It's also quite rare in that it has a maple capped board and no skunk stripe and was a special order that Fender offered at extra cost in an 18 mth period from late 68 to early 70 when rosewood boards were standard and Fender didn't offer a one piece maple neck. I think Hendrix had a Strat with a maple capped board too.
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

I am seldom lecherous about another chap's Strat but yours could ... as they say in Devon 'fair turn my head'.

I saw Hendrix play,  in fact I was in the audience here - if the camera had gone far enough back you might have seen me :-)  I may have been the youngest audience member at 11.

The Black ... glued on fingerboard, no skunk stripe Strat he used that night.

I believe it may well have been a very close cousin of your Strat :-)
So part of my history in a way :-)

Well I once refinished an old guitar where  some idiot had scratched the decal off and scribbled their own name next to it.

    Leo somebody or other??? ;)
