Had my head turned by the reviews of these , one reviewer said "buy one before PRS realise they have made a mistake with the price " there are other glowing reviews all over the internet .

But......i am a old school tele/strat/335/Lp junior man so will i like it ? (24 frets as well)

Anyone been the same and then got a P.R.S ? Did you take to it or sell asap ? .

I owned a ce24 semi hollow for a while. Whilst it was a fine guitar I was never that comfortable on a 24 fret guitar. Like yourself i am primarily a strat, 335 player.

I was lucky enough to have won it in a guitar raffle. I don't think they are worth £2300, for around £1500 i think is a fair price. I found it a very bright guitar, might be to do with the pickups. I would say try one.

I kept it for about a year, mainly because I won the thing. Sold it to PMT for £900. Didn't get any sniffs on here for around a grand. If you can buy secondhand.
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

Cheers , the one i'm interested in is around £450.

I'm sure the PRS you are looking at is a great guitar. The only thing you need to check for yourself is will you be OK with
24 frets ! I have never been able to get on with any guitar with 24 frets no matter what make the guitar is.
I do have a PRS Core Mahogany Standard DGT and it's great. Why not try the PRS SE satin 24 & the SE DGT they are both great guitars. Yes the SE DGT is more expensive but for me being old school like yourself feel the DGT is nearer in sound and feel to a Gibson with the addition of a really great single coil sound as well. Good Luck.

Played a few SE’s a week or so ago.
I tried the NF3, the CE24, 24/08 and the swamp ash special.
I thought the CE was a bit meh and I didn’t like the spilt sounds.
The star of the show was the swamp ash, sounded ace in all positions, and was 22 frets, it’s just a shame it’s the ugliest.  The split coil sounds on it was brilliant as were the humbuckers.

Cheers i tought the split sounds sounded o.k ( useable) on the you tube videos i have watched but that is listening on you tube , were the distorted sounds a bit dark/ over mid rangey if you know what i mean ? Like a very hot P.A.F ? .

@mark123 no worries didn't see the se bit. I think if you only had one guitar for like a function wedding band thing then the CE would be a good shout. I found the 24 frets, particularly the humbucker spacing a bit cramped for my personal taste.

A 24-fret PRS SE guitar with dual humbuckers probably has a three-way lever selector switch and push-pull pot to split to the outer coils.

This could easily be improved with a selector switch upgrade. Either an Alpha 2502N for the DiMarzio/Ibanez five-way HH circuit or a Schaller Megaswitch P for the old PRS coil permutations.

The SE 24/08 has two micro switches for tapping each pickup so quite versatile. It was the swamp ash special switching (5 way but not how you’d think it went) that really shined.  If they made the swamp ash look like the CE I’d be happier
