Phil Campbell of Motorhead rocked a Minarik Inferno - which he could frequently be seen playing live, especially around the time of their coincidentally-named Inferno album. That said, bizarrely, this link shows Lemmy playing a bass version - which I don’t recall ever seeing before .

Phil played (and plays I think) several different Framus guitars although the Explorer shapes probably got assumed to be Gibsons. Looking at their endorsee page it’s not exactly a list of household names, Devin Townsend (who has a signature model) would be the other big one I’d  suggest. So, Phil and Framus for this list.

I don’t think we’ve had Bumblefoot yet and his double neck Vigier.

Bo Diddley was a remarkably cool geezer given the timeframe.

I think John Mayall used a Burns Flute at one point.

And a Burns Flyte when he needed a stringed, rather than wind, instrument.

Josh Homme loves a Maton, you don't see many others using them.

Matt Bellamy is synonymous with Manson, when I see someone else playing one (not just the custom models) I immediately think of him.
I haven’t seen Homme use a Maton for a good while now, but I did have a go of his signature model once and it was pretty much sublime.  He uses Motor Ave and Echopark almost all the time now which I’ve only seen a couple of other players using. Although, I’ve seen him with an Epiphone Dot, a Teisco of some variety during the Songs for the Deaf and Era Vulgaris album tours and when he did the stint with Iggy Pop he was using a Burns 12 string which you don’t see touted about much and it was a sort of green burst which I found kinda’ cool.

Alex Turner has been using an Ovation Viper pretty recently which I can’t remember anyone using in my memory.

Chuck Schuldiner from Death played a B.C. Rich Stealth which set him apart from the usual Warlocks, Ironbirds, Bitches and Mockingbirds of the time.

The Viper was the Dr Hook guitar. Dennis Locorriere used Ovations in their hit period and a Viper for his electric strummings. Perhaps we can look forward to the Artic Monkeys cover of When You’re in Love With a Beautiful Woman.

Macca and a Hofner Violin Bass
Robbie Shakespeare used one for a bit as did Flabba Holt who between them played bass on hundreds of Jamaica recordings and so you see a Hofner pop up in many old reggae clips and one will have laid down many a fat sounding groove. However, it’s very hard to get away from the association with Macca.
