  • Robert Smith has done an interview which is in The Times today:

“It was easy to set ticket prices, but you need to be pig-headed. We didn’t allow dynamic pricing because it’s a scam that would disappear if every artist said, ‘I don’t want that!’ But most artists hide behind management. ‘Oh, we didn’t know,’ they say. They all know. If they say they do not, they’re either f***ing stupid or lying. It’s just driven by greed.”

Can't argue with him there. The "we didn't know" argument seems far less likely in this era where bands rely so heavily on touring for their income.

Liams never used it for any of his tours, and Noels never had the demand for solo tickets to require it, so we can safely say if anyones involved in that decision, it was Noel.

Yet Liam's been the one who's been vocal telling fans to stop whining about it.

CAST are brilliant. Few beers watching them then avoid Ashcroft in the piss queue. Winner!

Looks like Ticketmaster will cancel tickets being resold at higher prices, so they can re-sell them themselves at higher dynamic pricing ;)

I’m trying to get tickets for Tokyo but it appears you need to be a Japanese resident to register with Ticket pia (it’s advertised as live nation Japan as the seller but when you click on the link the seller is actually TP).

I played a gig with Cast a few years ago - a small festival on an old air strip out on a peninsula in North Wales. It was ridiculously windy. It was an awful gig - 2 3rds of the way through they moved the stage into a giant air hangar out the wind. The sound was utterly awful In the hangar too....... it was a bizarre gig - but Cast were a really good laugh and utterly un 'rock star'......Alabama 3 played too - our keyboard player is a big fan - they seemed seriously shady!

When we saw Cast at the Roadmender Northampton a couple of weeks back, the support band (who were quite good actually) mentioned just how lovely and supportive Cast had been to them several times.

Probably explains how they can turn a song like "I'm So Lonely" - which in other hands could be horrifically sappy - into something terribly genuine sounding... in that they are genuinely nice blokes who genuinely feel empathy for the lonely.  IMNSHO anyhow ;)

Anyhow, looking forward to watching 70,000 people file in to Walkaway next year...

This is only happening because Noel wants the cash 100%. He will ocme out in the new year saying that he wrote a bunch of songs that were clearly Oasis songs and so they had to do them, but it is cash. And probably a crisis after the divorce as well. But they have only being doing Oasis since 2000 for the money anyway.
