Hello guitar slingers......

Anybody sitting on a nice vintage Gibson dreadnought.........?
I'm thinking of pooling three guitars to buy big old gal from Gibson.

Is there anybody out there?

It’s not a jumbo but have you seen my 1954 LG-2 for sale in the classifieds on here? It’s basically a smaller version of a  J45

  • Hey Paul,
Yeah, I've seen it.  Very nice too.
    I had a '49 LG-2 a few years back.  I sold it when I got my '34 L-00.
    Thanks anyway........

That's exactly what I did! I know Tony at replay acoustics is pricey but he's worth visiting and trying to do a deal. Script logo 46/47 are basically banners but cheaper and sitka top of you can get on with the big necks. I also had a 48 j45 which was fantastic with a more modern feeling neck. I'd be looking at the 49 at replay If you have the budget.

I was offered a 58 J45 a few days ago that’s been sent to Glenn’s guitars ,  might be worth messaging him also.

    Yeah, thanks Mike.
I've messaged Tony.......... he might be in the States....
I must check my phonebook.  He bought an L-00 off me.
    I'd love a 50's SJ too.
That mint one on his site has been there for years.... always worry me a bit although I guess people would be afraid to play it?

I sold a46 SJ which was minty and exceptional sounding but neck too thick. Sold j45 and l00 because only 11/16 but and I tried for years to get on with them. Got a 36 jumbo with the 3 tone bars, v neck, wide nut. Sounds like s real really big deep and powerful l-00. It's my perfect guitar.

I've seen a '57 SJ which has caught my eye........ also the '49 at Replay........ I've got a 2006 D-41 which he might entertain.  He's had the odd modern guitar on there before.  Whereabouts are you in the country, Mike?
