1957 Gretsch 6199 Convertible (The forerunner to the Sal Salvador Jazz guitar)
1957 and in incredible, original condition. Hand carved Adirondack top with heavily figured maple back and sides (all solid woods). Ebony fingerboard and bridge with Gretsch 'thumbnail' fret markers (neo classic). It plays perfectly with a punchy cutting acoustic tone. Plugged in, it nails the classic clean jazz tones with an original, single gold De Armond Dynasonic pickup. Single volume and tone controls give a surprising amount of flexibility. This is the forerunner to the Sal Salvador, one of the first signature guitars and used the very best materials. In its original, 67 year old Deluxe Gretsch case which is in equally good condition.Base theme by DesignModo & ported to Powered by Vanilla by Chris Ireland, modified by the "theFB" team.
