Am rejigging my studio/gaming room. Currently my gaming rig and audio rig share the same screen and speakers.
Currently running Kali LP-6s.
But I will be moving the gaming rig to a different room and thinking of moving the LP6s with th gaming rig so thought it would be a good idea to upgrade.
Now I do love the sound of the LP6s, but ai have a bit more budget. Whilst there seem to be loads of reviews at the £200-£500 pound range there seems to be very few in the under £1000 range. I don't need massive speakers 8" would probably be a bit overkill in my loft room anyway.
I'm leaning towards the Genelec 8030, purely based on the fact that a lot of YouTubers seem to use them, but then again they may be just getting them for free.
Any recommendations?

8030's or 8020's.
How much acoustic treatment do you have in your room?
I'd put some of your budget towards that if the answer is 'none'.
Neumann are fine too.
I've got KH80's as my 3rd set of monitors (on the modular) and if you aren't mixing for release they would be a good option.
Neumann's MA-1 Room Correction is worth checking out too. I use a different product (a Trinnov) but I've heard good things from colleagues.
The bigger the bass driver the more problems you invite if the acoustics are not sorted in the room.
You may find that Genelec or Neumann with a smaller bass driver is a better option compared to the Kali.
I trialed the ATC SCM50 and SCM45s in my room and bought the SCM45's which were 1/3rd cheaper because 2x 6.5" bass drivers sounded better than the SCM50's 9" single bass driver.
Monitors are personal though.
Definitely buy from a place with a returns policy.

So you hear bass but it is not good to mix with.
Again, if not mixing for release does it matter?
If you are trying to mix for release then I'd probably avoid using a cheap sub.
Learn the monitors as a 2 way- engineers did this for decades and never used a subwoofer.
FWIW, I turn my sub off quite a lot and just hear the nix through the main monitors with no extra bass.

They do a cheaper A4V version if you need something smaller.
Bass is excellent, enough clarity in the mids, and the top end once you've given it a little boost is lovely. They're also very quiet in the self noise department. I loathe the hiss of some powered speakers. The Focal Alpha 65s and 50s went back because of it, the much vaunted JBL LSR305s annoyed the shit out of me. The IN-5s did not.
The IN5 bass driver doesn’t even have mid range to worry about and is in a nice big cab so will sound great.
Clean bass is better than more bass.
I'd still go for the 8030's though.

The dip switches allow you to tailor them to the room you're using them in. They are built very well and are pretty flat, they have performed better than every other speaker I have tried out thats available in the same price bracket (£700-£1100).
There does however seem to be a bit of a gap in the market, between budget speakers (Kali LP6/IN5s) and higher end with 6" drivers.
I am pretty confident that if you put the 8030's up against the Adams in the same room at the same time then you'd go for the Genelecs, even if they have a smaller woofer.
It isn't just about bass extension- it is about clarity, neutrality.
If you really want a 6.5" woofer, look at the Focal Shape 65.
They are not much more than the Adams but they have much better transient response in the low end, as they aren't ported, but have passive radiators.
The Adams aren't a bad speaker though, I'm sure if you do go that way you'll be happy.
