Who remembers this place and I've played and seen many a gig there and it was a great venue (good stage, sound and space) and maybe it's the same for some folks here - a highlight was supporting Wishbone Ash. A low point was with one of my bands, a Ska band, we attracted the local NF skinheads and they caused trouble and a very hostile atmosphere at a couple of gigs

Well, it's being rebuilt and it's to reopen. It's a shame there's living accommodation planned above it and that can be potentially problematic, but I'm sure all sound measures will be put in place.

Saw Paul Samson amongst others there back in the early 90s.

Yep, played there a few times back in the day. Sound was always excellent. We used to bring a bus load of fans with us and just about break even. Great fun !

I believe it featured in The Inbetweeners' episode when they went to a club and tried to score some drugs!
