It was a bit of a weird way to end the show given the calibre of talent they had.

St Vincent & Kim Gordon was pretty awesome. Wonder why no Courtney Love or Francis Bean Cobain.

Oh, and just realised that Dave Grohl sang All Apologies with his daughter. None of my business, but it's sad if he felt he needed a deliberate publicity stunt like that & sort of takes away from the reason they were there.

Not while Zoe Kravitz, Lily Collins, Lily Depp and Gerorge W Bush stalk the earth.

One is not invited, nor would she want to be.

The other is hopefully busy enjoying life with her hopefully normal husband.

Francis and her husband may be the ultimate ‘kids of the 90s scene’ power couple.

I saw this on Instagram this morning.

Think it was St Vincent doing Breed.

Singer was completely out of sync with the rest of the band. EDIT - apparently having technical issues with her IEM.

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

i don’t know any of those names, but a quick google says Lily Collins (actress) is daughter of phil collins (drummer) - so i don’t see the connection. Violet is a musician whose only content seems to be with her Dad and playing huge events with him.

I loved the passion energy in St Vincent’s performance, she handled some problem with her in ear monitor and got on with it. Loved all four songs, speaking as a fomer Nivana obsessed teenager. It’s more about the attitude of the performance then technical proficiency .. St Vincent’s chaotic solo is what Breed needs and perfectly captures this … though the backing band is bloody good of course (edit: St Vincent is very technically proficient, I add)

So she's not (yet) tried to "make it on her own" using only her father's name and connections? Until that happens she's just one of his entourage.

I'm sure Lily Collins is very talented too. They were just the first four names that came to mind. The other Lily and Zoe are "double nepos", as is Collins' husband.

EDIT: OMG - Violet Ghrol has her own Wikipedia page! You may be on to something, though shes's got a way to go before the reaches George W status.

It was fucking atrocious. Singer was completely out of sync with the rest of the band.

Shame as I love that song.

She was about a beat behind on most of the vocals, given she was frantically pawing at her ears between each line I think she couldn't hear anything.
She's an absolutely phenomenal musician (Berklee jazz alumnus) so the chances of her being out of time without a technical issue is basically zero.

Fair enough. I know absolutely nothing about her.

    I guess you can’t make a judgment from a 30 second snippet.

    I love Nirvana.
I love Kim Gordon & Sonic Youth.
    I quite like St Vincent.
    Joan Jett is pretty cool.

...but honestly, that was all pretty dreadful if you ask me. Maybe I'm just an insufferable snob but I can't remember a single one of these "take a legendary band and add a celebrity guest singer" performances thats ever been any good.

George Michael with Queen for the Freddie tribute show.

Very few others before or since.

St Vincent was great here, considering. I can take or leave the rest. I don't hate Violet - she is working on her own material and doesn't want to release it till it's actually good, which is far more than many have the self awareness to do.

Here is St Vincent the last time she played with Nirvana.

I think I actually prefer the intensity of her performance at fire aid even if she was out of time.

    I

can't stand Queen so there's a less than zero chance that I've watched that. ;-)
