Where would you guys recommend for a pedal repair, it's an old boutique dual overdrive that needs some attention.
I've emailed Williams Audio but not sure they are still operating. I cannot find a phone number for them.

Know anyone good for pedal repairs north of the M25, as far as Oxford?

    I’m High Wycombe based.

Two relatively simple repairs, one due to my attempt at a previous repair (don’t ask) and another much simpler job (power socket replacement).

If not, where would I buy a pedal power socket from? I’d rather not buy from Amazon if possible (though difficult to avoid).

    Thanks for any advice offered.

What kind of power socket is it? I bought a couple of the pcb-mounting ones from CPC Farnell to repair a TC Polytune and a Vox DA-5.

I sent my Barber there, chased after several weeks and it was sent back to me, still broken (I was charged.)
Which is a shame, as I've always had good amp service in the past.
That's just my personal experience on that occasion.

You could try Mick Johnson, on the southern outskirts of Reading.

I can do simple (and some not so simple) repairs.

    What pedals and what problems?

    R.
    One is a wah. I think it’s a Vox.
It was modified before I bought it, and worked really well.
After years of hard work, the foot-switch button failed, which I replaced (I have an O-Level in Electronics, and decent soldering station, but very little talent, and crappy eyes) - plus I am heavy handed, fists of ham, and fingers of butter.

Anyway, the new button sat a tad too low to click on, so I messed with if, but in retightening, some wires pulled.

It just needs going over. I think it worked afterwards, but sounded weird. So I put it away (about 6 years ago).  I don’t think it’s a big deal to get it working well and sounding good, just needs someone who knows that they’re doing

The other is my favourite fuzz.  It’s a DoombastardFx Ky-ll-Drive from 2011.  I think it’s based on the Univox 70’s fuzz, something akin to a pedal Jimmy Pages used back in the Led Zep early years.  I bought it on a whim via eBay around 2013, and it’s been on my board ever since.  Survived every cull.  I don’t much use it as a fuzz, more of a subtle clean boost with a touch of hair.  It’s a bit like the Tumnus, in that it gives the low end a bit of a kick.

Anyway, I’ve opened it up (screws are a bit chewed and need replacing, previous owner clearly gigged it, and was in the back at the battery box regularly.
The screws function, but need replacing.

The problem is the middle of the power socket has failed.  The socket is still there, but it need replacing.  Luckily, not PCB mounted

I’m heavy handed, and I love this pedal, so would rather pay someone who knows what they’re doing fix it.  I could do it myself, but I’m very heavy handed, and don’t want to knacker it.

Similarly here. A Carbon Copy was never fixed despite several polite reminders over months. As far as I know he still has it.  I don’t want it back now, lesson learned etc

    From the jpfamps home page:

Due to a family illness I am not currently available to do repair work as I will be spending considerable time outside of London.
It was my intention to vacate our Denmark St. workshop this year, and in the current circumstances I have made the decision to close our Denmark St. workshop as of Monday 12th January, 2026.
I am not closing JPF Amplification, and will still be working out of Sweet Amps in Hackney time permitting. We will be vacating the premises at the end of March and would appreciate it if all repairs are collected before this date.
We will NOT be disposing of unclaimed items at the end of March, but would rather not have to transport them to another premises.
I will only be intermittently contactable over the next week or so, but will do my best to get back to you. In the meantime for Valve amp repairs contact Jim at Sweet Amps:
    www.sweetamps.com
And for pedal, hi-fi and solid state amps contact Alex:
    alexwfm@hotmail.it
    Thanks for your patience.
