Anyone else get tickets for the Doobies in the summer?

My dad begrudgingly paid nearly £350 for two tickets (which, to be fair, are 8 rows back on the floor) in the pre-sale yesterday. Probably the last time we'll see them with Mush Mouth in the lineup, so shouldd be worth the pennies. But I'm glad he paid haha

I suppose if you were lucky to get ELO tickets for Hyde Park, which have sold out already, you're in for a treat with The Doobies, and Steve Winwood and D.Harrison being added and this time around, we have Michael McDonald, too.

I've seen both Michael McDonald The Doobies before but separately. Several years ago when the The Doobies shared the bill with Steely Dan, they showed that they have it in all areas and were so energetic and blew Steely Dan off stage.

    Enjoy the gig

I went to see The Eagles on their farewell tour at the Co-op Arena, by Man City's ground in 2024 - Steely Dan were initially booked in for the support slot, which I was excited about - A few weeks before the gig, that was changed and The Doobie Bros took on the opening slot - So I was more excited as both a fan of them and I'd never seen them before

Same management team I believe as the Eagles

M McDonald was with them - They only had time for about a 1 hour slot but it was effectively a greatest hit slot

Whilst I'm a big Eagles fan, you knew what you were going to get - And as good as it was, you knew every note, word, groove etc - But Doobie Bros was more fresh and exciting - Great band and as tight as hell with excellent harmonies

As @Kebabkid mentions above, they played at the O2 in London with S Dan, pre covid I think but costs put me off, inc trains plus a hotel etc - Steve Linwood with the Doobies should be an excellent combination - So enjoy as they won't be around many more times

Couldn’t stomach the ticket price in the end despite the classic lineup… might see if I can get a cheap single week of the show, but if not, will live with my similar memory of them as an Eagles opener, and that was a set that was nothing but greatest hits. They’re touring a new album this summer so will be “new crap” to get through, although it’s a good excuse for a beer break. :D
