Boss GT1000 down tuning?

What's Hot
Has anyone successfully done this?

The pitch shift & pedal bend effects seem to have some strange chorusing artefacts to them & don't sound anywhere near as good as my Digitech Drop.

I’ve experienced the same issue when attempting to tune down using the pitch shift effect, so I’m interested in following this thread. I have no issues using a Digitech Drop.

On the Pod Go, that only has a simple pitch shift, I've had great results for going down a step or two. However, the pitch shift has to be placed first in the signal chain. I'm not sure what parameters are available in the GT1000 but I'd suggest perhaps not maximising any intensity setting.
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

I have the same problem - it changes the tone as well, quite significantly.

Even the whammy has a fairly noticeable tone-suck when it's on but the treadle moved fully down.

I tried a GT1000 Core, drop tune is a pretty important feature for me and I could never get it sounding, or feeling as good as a drop pedal.

The only unit I have used that is just as good as the drop is a Kemper.

Tried It with a few various things but the Drop is by far the best.

I could be wrong but I don't think the GT/GX units have a polyphonic drop tune effect like the Digitech Drop pedal. Headrush has a model of that actual pedal, which I found pretty good. I use a standalone Digitech Drop with my Boss GX-100.

Dave Webb has done some pretty deep dives on the GT1000 and did a video on drop tuning.

Huh, cool - must give that a try. TBH using the Drop pedal separately is a bit of a faff as I find I need to keep it on a separate PSU to avoid noise, so if I can get the same effect with a built in effect then that would be good. Also, I always forget to switch it off!
