Thanks Blobb, I breezed over it but will have a proper read tonight. Its not so much older music Im looking for, Its more recent music Im looking for. Goth music seems to carry a wide spectrum, but then again people are calling Depeche Mode a goth band these days. I dont ever remember any NWR or Synth band being goth.

I think DM had some goth-adjacent output. Songs of Faith and Devotion fer example. I wouldn't really call them goth though.

I'd try the beastmilk album. They became grave pleasures.
If you like metal the last in Solitude album were quite goth sounding in a fotn way. The likes of Tribulation has followed in their footsteps. hapel of disease,  but not the first album as tags is death metal. Actually so is the early Tribulation.
Wayfarer are a mix of goth, Americana and black metal.
    Wovenhand may appeal

I saw that their album Black Celebration was considered goth (sounds like a goth album title anyway) and their last one Memento Mori was about the death of Andy Fletcher so there’s, I think, something of the goth about it.

Relatively modern would have been Savages who called it a day after two albums. More post punk/Bauhaus/Joy Division leaning than what I know of Fields of the Nephilim.

I think that’s my entire 21st century slightly goth knowledge.

Fields of the Heffalump were tail end gothic-ists, although I do like their stuff too  :)

...and I'll throw this older band in as well just because it's not often you see an Ibanez Musician AND a Musician bass at the same time!

Don't know, but seeing this thread has meant I've been listening to the Sisters Of Mercy all afternoon. I used to be heavily into them in the 80s...

First and last and always, the ultimate goth band. (Despite Eldritch denying they even were one.)

Blimey, the Nephs. Used to follow them on tour, saw them live over 100 times.

Whilst there's still plenty of goth ish stuff around, or 'darkwave' as it seems to be known as these days, I think you'd be pushed to find anything close.  Paul's clean melodic arpeggio riffs with Pete's searing lead tone over the top,  Spaghetti Western (Morricone) influences and all that.. The Sisters were obviously the closest at the time but I don't come across anything like that any more.
