Triads were a watershed moment in my playing journey, finally being the “thing” that helped me play chords around the fretboard, choose different voicings, and link chords with scales.
Lately I’ve seen some online posts from people not sure how to apply them, or why they’re worth learning, so yesterday I uploaded a video sharing my perspective on it.
The first part looks briefly at the theory (what makes a triad, and how to play a major, minor, or sus version), and then practical examples with suggested practice ideas.
