Bass VI bridge options - Staytrem not in stock

I was wondering if anyone had some other suggestions regarding Bass VI bridge upgrades for a Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI.

I went to buy a Staytrem but there is a 9 month wait for delivery and so I'd like to see what others would recommend in the absence of that.

I don't really like the Mastery bridge and the Staytrem is really what I'm after - is there anything similar?

The board has a 9.5inch radius.

Thanks as always.

I really like my Trent Vibrato , their bridge looks very good as well , not sure if it works with the Bass VI though? Worth asking?

  • Have you spoke to Staytrem? He may be able to help with the queue....

With my Bass VI, I found that using decent strings was all it needed.

I went with these Newtone Strings Bass VI Set

It's possibly still worth getting a StayTrem, but the strings they ship with are too light.

I have a Halon Bass VI bridge on my baritone Jazzmaster (30” scale length like the Bass VI.

I had previously used a Mastery and it wasn’t quite there in terms of intonation, a little bit more range was needed.

The Halon works and sounds great. Mine is a custom aluminium with coated brass saddles. The different materials do make a difference - https://youtu.be/iFF-bnRkUrY?si=KDA0bFiSmvj8ACHa

Yeah, unfortunately it's 36 weeks confirmed.

Thanks for the tip. I know what you mean about the stock strings being too light. I found that, particularly with the low E. I haven't gone as heavy as the Newtone 100 or 110 though!

I hadn't heard of these before. Thanks.

Quite a rabbit hole that, with all the different alloys etc cetera. I put an aluminium TruArc on my Gretsch - that was the single biggest difference I think I've ever made to guitar ever.

I'm tossing up whether I should just sit in the Staytrem queue as I've ordered one - but these are definitely a contender. I've never had a problem with the bridge on my Jazzmaster apart from very occasionally dropping down a little, probably as it's reasonably old and all the kinks were ironed out before I got it, but I know that some people are constantly having issues with theirs.

Edit: I just finished the video - I think Lord Fuzzman is playing Another Journey By Train, the Cure B-Side is part of the demo, which suits me well.
