There was a fabulous player who played at one of the GASfests. I think it was 2003. His names was James I think and boy could he make that vigier sing.

I had a well-worn tele and, rather than having it re-fretted, I had it de-fretted.

I can't say I use it that often but it's a great texture to add to recordings...I used it a while back for a SotM backing track:
