Nice. I like them too, as does my dentist, he has one (present from his wife apparently).

    Too flippin' many watches here.

    Some of the 'tool' watches:

Was actually running out of storage a while back, so asked our resident leather craftsman Matthew if he would make a nice leather watch-roll for me. Am really chuffed with what he came up with:

I like titanium, ideally JDM (though I couldn't tell you why). My sparkliest is a Seiko Astron Night Sky - only 150 made.

And I have one of these on the way:

    Current state of the collection:

Snoopy - my mum's from the 70s!  Mickey Mouse - one of an eBay job lot for £40 which I made my money back from (think it's an Indian frankenwatch!)  Gold rectangle, 21st birthday present, Rotary and silver Seiko, my grandad's, white dial Sturmanskie bought of eBay, same as what Yuri Gagarin wore aboard Vostok 1!

    Casio overflow:

The Naughty Box, all jarg as fuck:

    Casio overflow:

I occasionally comment on these watch threads just to say that I buy Casio F-91Ws.

In a rush of blood to the head a couple of weeks ago, I bought a G-Shock model because I liked the idea of solar power and automatic radio-controlled time updates....... and I hate it.  It's too heavy and too big for my puny wrist.

Which led me logically to the SPB143J1, aka the 62 MAS:

Latest acquisition, the panda dial, solar powered “Seitona”:

Another cool solar powered watch, which also receives the atomic clock signal every night at midnight:

My daily is a gshock. My baby is a Speedmaster. I have 8 inch wrists, so this is a 44mm Coaxial Chronometer moonwatch (rather than a professional). Currently on a lovely strap tailor brown leather strap instead of its bracelet.

    No idea!

They tell you the radio link status I think. When you do something with the crown. It's probably in the manual...

Ah! Some of them are to set the year and month for the perpetual calendar.

I often wear a watch & own a few budget options.  Sometimes view ‘watch YouTubers’ at the budget end like: https://www.youtube.com/@BensWatchClub/featured & a watch repairer/restorer I recently found that’s very relaxing: https://www.youtube.com/@WristwatchRevival/videos

    I’m currently wearing a Citizen Eco-Drive

When I have the money the next watch I would like to buy is something from Mondaine, with a white face.

Btw a couple months ago I ordered a NATO strap from https://www.ukwatchstrap.co.uk/index.html & would definitely recommend them although they don’t sell any metal bracelets.

Although they are far from Horological masterpieces I think all the classic Cartier designs are very hard to better

Strong agreement from me, Tank, Santos Dumont, Ballon Bleu, all bangers.  Loving the new Tank Guichets!

Having said that don't discount Cartier's horological chops, they've done some amazing stuff like the watches with the movement entirely in the oscillating weight!

I considered buying a watch for a few years, couldn’t find exactly what I wanted, went in to a large retailer in Oxford St, just after Christmas 2023, to see if they had a BB58 in stock.
They didn’t, but they did have one of these and coincidentally I had exactly the price in my pocket, not a penny more or less.

It has been worn daily since, It’s my only watch, looks agreeable in most settings, is a pleasing size, thickness and not heavy. Currently accurate to 1 second per day.

I’m not a massive watch guy. Given unlimited funds, I’d probably stick with what I have

I particularly like the Tank Francais and the Roadster .
Another brand that has had some beautiful designs is Ebel .....they have long become undesirable and are a particularly good deal when bought secondhand .....the Classic Wave ,Voyager , 1911 and the Discovery are lovely looking watches
