Landau - Burning Water - text book strat playing?

So after the recent Vai / DLR band rabbit hole, I`ve moved onto Landau as preferred gym listening..........

Always loved his playing, but it`s limited what's on Spotify. All the Burning Water stuff is missing. But found this gem on YT from `91. Not nearly as outside and atmospheric as his later solo stuff. And that strat tone!

Also, I miss a stack for smallish gigs!

Also - never sure where to post these kind of threads - guess playing generally falls under `technique`?

    Great band! I prefer this era of Mike to the later stuff. The BW album is terrific as is Abbandanato (Or wtf its called). "Venus' daughter" and "circle the wagons" are up on YT - check em out if you dont know them!

    The 1st The Raging Honkies album (we are the best band) is sooooooo different, almost grungy with Hendrix-style playing and sounds. It's a grower

    Love that too - maybe even more! Both Raging Honkies albums are on Spotify.

    Also, the Burning Water stuff is really hard t find - but some lovely guy in Germany sent me rips of all the BW albums. Happy to share if anyone wants them, as you literally can`t buy it!

    I LOVE Michael Landaus session playing on all the pop and rock stuff he did in the 80s for artists all over the world - some of the most satisfying playing to listen to of anyone - I'll happily link a spotify playlist.

    I must admit I've never listened to the stuff above and will get on it.

    Thank you for sharing this!
    I'm always looking for interesting USA Hamers for sale.

    At the moment I'm looking for:

    * Hamer SS2 & T62
    * Music Man Luke 1

    Please drop me a message.

    There are beautiful guitar instrumentals like Beck's 'Where were you' and I'd put this one in there, too.

    I, too, liked his session stuff on the Joni Mitchell and Richard Marx albums
