    It's a tweaked sd-1

    It's pretty decent.

    If I recall correctly

    Modified OD is an SD-1
    The '78 is a modded DS-1
The Custom Badass Distortion is a Shredmaster

    Interesting

I knew the first two, but I was unaware of the Custom Badass being a Shredmaster.

It makes sense as they are two of my all time favourite pedals. It must have been revoiced a bit though as the shredmaster has way too much bass, not enough level and not especially progressive gain. All of which are not a problem on the Badass

Yeah it's good, if you like an SD-1 you'll probably like it. It's basically a slightly more versatile SD-1.

Full disclosure, I had to send mine back to Thomann to get fixed as mine stopped working- they said something about grounding, I think something was shorting out somewhere. Mine was a pretty decent price, I was always slightly suspicious it was a return (though it wasn't described as "B-stock"), lol. But it's been working since, no problem.

Bought a used one last night on Reverb.

  • Had one for a long time, it's a pretty useful little thing. The 100hz knob lets you tailor low end 'whomp' nicely, great for cutting out low end flub (or adding it, if you want that). I ended up giving it to a metal-playing pal for his birthday as while I really liked it I don't find myself needing that aggressive of a boost.

The one I bought through Reverb rolled up earlier today.
I must say I'm very impressed, easily outperforms some so called hi end pedals I've owned in the past.
£45 delivered for a nearly new pedal can't be bad.
