Musing on this as I love this bloody guitar but it's massive and I have to get in 2 lifts with a little trolley to get my gear from apartment to car, and that means I don't take it out very often

Has anyone ever had one of these in a gigbag? I'm thinking the Mono bass case might work, which would be great as I already have one, but for some reason I haven't tried it already

For Non reverse? I could find any.

Also this thing is fragile - I really want something better than a cheap Thomann one

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, de gustibus non est disputandum and what you get up to in the privacy of your own home is none of my business all that, but NR Firebirds are a hard no from me.

the mono bass case is actually a little bit too long for a NRFB. i put an extra piece of foam in the bottom, plus around the neck grip bit to make the headstock sit a bit more forward.

I do already have one so can try it but that does sound quite annoying tbh. Not quite as bad as carrying the hardcase but still - I want to still also able to use the case for bass without faffing around

I've emailed Mono anyway. Will also check with Reunion Blues as someone on reddit said one of theirs works

it would probably be *fine* without the extra bits i chuck in there. i have to do the same for the hardcase i have anyway as it's very roomy. but the mono is much easier to cart about.

I managed to get my T bird ( reverse FB, T style neck ) to mostly fit in a Coffincase gigbag.
Might be worth checking some dims, I think the NR shape is slightly less awkward.

Ok so I checked my existing Mono Classic Bass…

It’s just ok but hugs the neck closer to the  headstock than I’d like, though there is a good 3/4” clearance between the back of the headstock and the inside surface of the case

Given I want a specific case anyway I’ve asked Mono and Reunion Blues for their thoughts. Mono reckon a Vertigo should work but I need to see if the neck rest is in exactly the same spot.

Reunion look like they put their neck rest a little further from the headstock based on their stock pics, so I’m hopeful that might be a good option

Reunion Blues have a moveable neck support!  This is excellent news so looks like their base case should be a go-er

I used to transport my regular Firebird in a Mono Bass Vertigo with zero problems, not sure what knock on effect the NR aspect would have on fit....

I don't have the guitar or the case anymore but I'm sure the headstock was further away from the neck support than in your photo though. Sounds like the Reunion Blues is the way to go.

When I used to gig mine I found that it was maneuvering whilst wearing it on a strap that was the most precious thing. Felt like I was playing an ironing board,  albeit a very, very cool looking ironing board!

I was just looking at the Mono website out of curiosity.  I've never owned one of their bags, but heard good things of course.  They don't seem to do much to cater to unusually shaped, but not uncommon guitars... not only Firebirds, but also Flying Vs and Explorers.  I'm quite surprised.

Yeah, they’re amazing cases but it’s a small corner of the market in reality. Compared to making one regular case that’ll fit basically every other solid body on the planet it’s a sensible business decision I guess!

Yeah, I suppose so.  I see they do also offer a wider case for semi-hollow guitars, so most "conventional" shapes are covered.

I've got the Mono Vertigo semi-hollow bag and use it for my 335 and LP Special. My Fender Electric XII also fits and it's much longer than a Firebird.

I have a 335 Vertigo as well but it's too wide for my liking (also I want to be able to take both my 330/355 and Firebird out together!). The NR is a skinny thing front to back and I worry it's just going to waggle about in there
