Honest thoughts on new Murphy lab’s

I know there were issues with the finish on some earlier Gibson Les Paul Murphy Labs but on searching there’s still seems to be cases of poor flaky finishes coming out even on recent guitars, any experience with this on recent Murphy Labs with anyone on here?

Cheers.

2024 ML R9 heavy aged here, no issues with the finish and feels wonderful to hold. I can't imagine any issues developing either, even though it's heavily checked and has some finish dings, they feel smooth to the touch.

The worn in finish, like a Fender Custom Shop relic, makes you relax and less precious about it plus the neck doesn't get sticky and the whole guitar doesn't show finger prints like a gloss finish so there's no need for constant wiping down.

It's the best Les Paul I've owned.

Got to be the best looking LP I've seen. If it sounds half as good as it looks you're a very lucky person!

I spent 12 months checking Coda & Peach for the colours and tops until I found this one that ticked all the boxes, not seen once since that I would prefer either. It sounds great, but not drastically different to other 2023/24 R9s I've tried, they are all quite consistent sound wise in my experience.
