The price, per pack has increased from £80 (Satriani) to £100 for each of the 'Brown sound collection:, or £600 for the collectors pack, which also includes Tonex Max.
So that is 150 profiles, of a single amp ( in various tweaked configs ) as opposed to around 80 of a wide selection of amps in the Satch collection.
Many of the BS collection, are patches which are sounds from albums, which probably don't include the FX used.
In Jims other demo videos, he shows that he is using a separate plugin for reverb in his DAW, ( Sunset sound-on another track, panned), and when he demos something like Unchained, you can't see what he is kicking in for the flanger ( probably an authentic MXR under the desk )
Nice achievement, to have actually made the effort to make the collection, but I'm not sure it is worth the outlay, just find a suitable free Friedman profile ( Perfect Marshall, for example )and tweak it yourself.
A decent OD pedal, in front of any old Marshallcapture would probably get you 99% there anyway.
You will never know the difference after you have mixed and mastered your own song, and it would have to be something in the same vein as a Van Halen tune, they were special for a reason, you can't hope to compete, so why bother?
Possibly combined with any objections that the family might have.
We all know how protective the Hendrix estate has been over Jimi, and maybe there’s some of that.
I was very interested in the new packs but the prices are insane.
TBH I’d be far happier about the prices if some of the money was going to Ed’s family.
Even then I’ve got some great Plexi captures that get close enough for a hack like me.
Fancy a laugh: the unofficial King of Tone waiting list calculator:

definitely milking it a bit now, but 'Drop dead legs', is pretty drop dead accurate, played on a 58 V copy ( so much for the mystery over Ed's pickups )
Still a bit overkill really, a lot of the variety comes just from rolling off the volume.
Most impressive performance I`ve heard is here:
and of course, as with the real deal, it`s got an awful lot to do with the player. In this case I believe the chap plays guitar for Tommy Emmanuel, and they play some VH tunes for fun..........
Someone asks about gear in the comments, and it`s a typical Aussie reply: `Hi there
Despite that, one of the audience nearly moved at one point - that must be a bit soul destroying!
