Ilitch Electronics BPNCS Back Plate Noise Hum Cancelling System for Stratocaster

£260 delivered

The Ilitch BPNCS is a low impedance air coil built in a replacement backplate. It removes 50Hz hum while preserving single coil  tone. Fender Stratocasters with 1, 2 or 3 Strat style single coil pickups can be retrofitted with BPNCS'

Open Tremolo Cut (OTC) Version so you can access the springs and claw screws if you wish, without removing the backplate.

Strength: VNT (Vintage) for AlNiCo Rod pickups with DCR 5.5kΩ - 6.5kΩ

Works with
- 3 strat pickups of identical wind and polarity (or)
- with a middle pickup that is RP/RW

I prefer the second (RP/RW); the Ilitch system is out of circuit in positions 2 and 4, where you retain that pure strat quack.

It does not eliminate inductive buzz - for that you'll need to screen your strat with Copper Foil / Graphite Paint.

The last 4 photographs show the system as (previously) installed on my strat.

Video 1 (I need to fine tune the hum-cancelling trim pot for the middle pickup)

Video 2

I made the second video to illustrate tuning stability with a deep drilled Trem block - but luckily it also demonstrates Strat Tone with the Ilitch BPNCS in circuit.
