Embedded images

Does anyone else have issues viewing embedded images in posts? 

For example, I can't see any of the embedded images in the Golden Era Aged Guitars (the recent pages for example pg 84-85) https://thefretboard.co.uk/discussion/118184/golden-era-aged-guitars#latest . But clearly others can. I'm finding this the case on both chrome and edge. I can see some embedded images - looking at the html, the images I can't view are the ones hosted by google with client 'thefretboard.co.uk' (I may have misinterpretted this html)

Any tips on how to get all the pictures displayed? 
Anyone else suffering from this? 

I mean in some sense its helping with gear acquisition as there has been quite a few guitars I've liked the sounds of but haven't been able to actually see..

The older photos that show with a black square like this (it's actually a PNG image from imgur):

Are usually the result of changes a while ago (a year, maybe longer) to imgur where you had to create a profile there in order to use the embed URL to enable other web pages to fetch and embed images from imgur.  You will see these in the opening post of the first link you posted that goes back to 2017.  The author of that thread now subscribes to the fretboard forum through Patreon and uses the functionality to embed images directly from his computer.  The URL format for these is https://tfb-user-images.eu-central-1.linodeobjects.com/ followed by a very long alpha-numeric number with no file extension at the end.  Newer imgur images and those uploaded by people with imgur profiles will usually show, but quite a few members have recently been reporting problems with trying to embed imgur images here.

Where there may be problems in this forum displaying images is where it is trying to fetch them from behind a user account or if a site hosting the image blocks the ability of other sites to fetch them.

There's also the issue that images other than those uploaded here by subscribers are technically "off-site" content, and some peoples' browser settings may be set to block external content in pages for security reasons.

One thing that might work with some images that aren't displaying is to close the page, delete cached data in the browser, and open the page again.  Different methods for different browsers, but it sounds as though you are quite tech savvy and know how to do this.

The middle "googlesyndication" link you posted is to a text-based JavaScript that displays adverts, and perhaps you have an ad-blocker.  Paying a subscription through Patreon removes adverts.

Thank you for all of this. It wasn't the deleted imgur.com images I was worried about. And clearly I had unsuccessfully pulled the wrong link from the html cose but it does seem to be the 'off-site' content which is being blocked. I'll go through and clear cache, go through my settings and see if I can fix the issue. Really appreciate the help.
