Looking for some '59-62 voiced sets. Got some Fender Pure Vintage '65s currently and they're a tad too bright.

Would also consider Jazzmaster sized gold foils or humbuckers etc

Let me know what you've got!

Good luck in your quest - but I’d just pass on some info.
Ive just replaced Pure Vintage 65s in my Jazzmaster with a set of Mojo units. They are not any darker in real terms.
If you haven’t done so already, try changing the pots to 500k or 250k units before changing your pickups and see if that gets you into the ballpark you are aiming for.
    Hope that helps.

  • @impmann thank you for the advice, much appreciated. I thought by rolling the tone down I could emulate 500k or 250k pots without having to change them? Have you changed the pots in your Jazzmaster now?

I’ve had a few different JMs - and I’ve tried both 250 & 500k. Tbh, I like them with 1meg pots… as you say, you can always turn the tone pot down (or drop the volume pot to 9 or so).

If you do have to revert to buying new I thoroughly recommend Q Pickups 58-64 set. I've had a few different pickups in my JM and these are by far the best, most "vintage" sounding I have tried. Direct from Croatia but even with import duty are quite reasonably priced. https://qpickups.com/qshop/product/1958-jazzmaster-pickups-set-vintage-correct-a5-hand-wound-guitar-fender-q-pickups-58-1959-60-61-jm/

  • I've got a bag of Jm pickups that may suit and some quarter pounders too - I'm more than willing to send them too you and you can have a bash - and if they are appropriate then we can come to terms :-)

Thanks for the very generous offer Mike but I bought some of the new Seymour Duncan Silencer Hot pickups that arrived last week so I'm all sorted for now. I'll update the post! Cheers
