I've seen some shows- but in terms of lavish staging, this is pretty much unsurpassed. My company have a box at 02 so got a freebie. Red Roses were in the box next to us.
I can only analogise it to a BDSM Baroque Eurovision song contest final; lace and leather everywhere, more dancers than you'll ever see and an incredible vocal performance from old Steffani herself, whose workload was ridiculous.
Huge energy, loud as hell, incredible backing band (featuring 23 y/o Tosh the Drummer- incredible) and a very clever almost Shakespearian underlying theme.
Did I love it? Not quite my thing- I endure it whilst Ali camped it up.
Did I respect the brilliance of it? 100%
My main crit would be a lack of light and shade in the performance- all high octane top of the vocal range. Maybe a quieter moment here and there would be more contrast.
But as a show- phenomenal creativity, peerless execution and as camp as a row of pink tents.

The showmanship of Madonna with the creative drive of Bowie and the voice of I don't know, someone who can do singing real good and that.
I'll probably need to stop showing her old clips of Depeche Mode and coming out with dad comments like "now that's how to put on a proper show".
I was looking at some of the Glasto broadcasts and thinking the tunes were something of an afterthought in some cases.
Gaga does a good job though, putting on a spectacle.
I'd be interested to know how you remember the show. Do you think in terms of "that song was really well played" or "the dancing for <track> was amazing"? To what degree was the music itself a factor in the experience?
