I know there's a bit of interest in theses around these parts, the Sonicake UK store is doing £35 off at the moment and oddly Ebay have a 20% off code WITCHY20 that works at the same time so I just ordered one and paid £212 . just in case anyone else is interested at a seemingly bargain price

Thanks - the GP-5 is pretty tempting with the same code at just under £53

It can do a hell of a lot for £53, it’s even a steal at full price.

That's a bonkers price!! I have one & it's just incredible what they've squeezed into it. You need to use the phone app for parameter control, but it's really good too. I'm probably going to get a Chocolate Plus for it which would effectively give you a very usable gig rig that you could carry in your pocket!  But I have the GP200X too which is also very good but, like all MFX, it has its pros & cons. If I had a magic wand it would be great to combine all the pros from the GP200 & my Pod Go into one MFX - but I've looked & must have misplaced it!

My GP200 has arrived , only had a quick go but so far it seems much more intuitive that the Boss GX-10 that I tried

What are the effects like on it? Mainly delays, modulations and reverb?  Thinking of a little backup rig with wah, couple of mini drives, tonex one,  and something like this.  Is it easy to use for effects and are they reasonable?

Just going through them now, delays seem good, deep dive tonight and tomorrow once I get back from the vets.

Quite impressed with the delays and reverbs, stereo tapes are very enjoyable. I've got very little experience with modulation to be honest but they all seem useable to me. The bit crusher is great fun. It needs some tweaking to get rid of the metallic sound from the amp sims but I suspect some decent IR's will help there. Thats my next task. Then I'm going to set up a couple of patches for headphone playing and just get one with it.

Its got a lot of good stuff in it, and its much easier to tweak and play around with through the edit software which is pretty good. There are things you can do through the software that you cant do through the unit itself including footswitch variations and certain control settings and setting up customised user stomp settings.

Theres also useful info of each amp, cab and fx plus its easier to move the fx chain around.

Yeah I’ve got it perma attached to my Mac, I have had some random software crashes though, usually when in the settings menu, will investigate further tomorrow

Is that a desktop MAC or a laptop (I'm guessing the latter maybe)? When you say crashes, did you mean that the connection goes and the edit software freezes up?

Desktop Mac, software shuts down , usually when I access the midi menu but sometimes in the global EQ. I'd look on theGearPage but I can't deal with it over there

For whatever reason, there are more reported edit software problems with MACs than PC's. It's the same with Line 6 software.

Now, I have a desktop PC and had a problem with Pod Go Edit 'crashing' and after doing some research I found out why. There is a lot of data being relayed back & forth between the edit software and the mfx unit itself & with each firmware upgrade this tends to increase. I was connecting to the front USB port until I learned that on some computers, the rear USB ports provide a stronger, steadier signal.  So I switched to the rear USB port and it worked perfectly thereafter (even with a non-powered USB hub so that I could power multiple devices).

The other thing I learned was that the standard USB cable provided typically works OK with most PC's/MAC's but where the USB signal strength isn't quite 'there' and/or the data being transferred is over a certain level (and for whatever reason MACs seem to be more susceptible) you need a better quality high data speed cable.

Finally, if changing to a rear USB (and eg on laptops there isn't one) and/or a high data speed cable still doesn't solve the problem, a powered (not passive) USB hub will nearly always solve the problem by providing a more powerful, steady data signal.

    Hope this is helpful.
