(srsly though this will be the plan a lot of the time going forward, esp anywhere smaller)
Ps What is the club in Dubai? Have a mate out there
Gig is at The Club in Abu Dhabi, but we’re sold out!!
Ps he thinks he’s a bassist but don’t let him anywhere near one!
We had the inevitable conversation of "holy shit why do you need 2 amps" and yeah maybe I can't be arsed with it in future, but it sounded and looked amazing.
In soundcheck there was basically no guitar going through the PA but it still sounded great all the way to the back of the room but once the room filled up I think he upped all the volume a little bit and put some guitars in the FOH mix as well.
I said it a lot and I'll keep saying it. A rock & roll show is meant to be loud. Not uncomfortable, but loud and exciting and a little bit raucous. Job done
More amps looks cool. End of discussion
I had the TM on 1W or maybe even 0.5W and the Matchless with the Master virtually as low as possible. More volume would have been fine and would've meant I could do more feedback stuff which again is part of the show
Anyway, gig went very well, so I think I've got everyone on side
