1 - for a studio chair, make sure (as you mentioned) that it does not have a headrest as this will impair a clear signal path for studio listening and monitoring.
2 - £900 new can be bettered by searching for used or refurbished office products. Bankrupt companies' furniture is sold off with reasonable discounts.
3 - Arm rests. Take your acoustic guitar to a chair shop and try playing the guitar sitting in a number of chairs, especially the one(s) you are interested in. I think you will find it is harder than you imagine. I personally would get a chair without armrests, it will help with guitar, keyboard and mixing.
Thanks for the advice. Didnt think of the headrest getting in the way of the signal path. Good shout about looking for reduced clearence office supplies. There seems to be a fair amount of refurbished options for segnificantly less money. Cheers
I acutally came across a youtube review on these and they seem like a comfortable compact option. Will take a look. Cheers
I think it might tick all your boxes. If so, it'd be worth looking for one.
I did see these come up after doing more research as a decent budget chair with good lumbar support. Good to hear it does the job. I have seen some used ones for around £250 or so. I'll keep looking and wait for a good deal to turn up. It look like the arms can drop down. Would you say they drop down low enough to be out of the way for playing guitar?
I don't think the drop is enough for me, personally.
Good to know thanks
