I broke my own rule about avoiding bug style units and got the newish 5Ghz Fender Telepath for general use in a couple of outfits.   Something to throw in an instrument case.

Can only say it is completely flawless in operation with electric or acoustic and I’ve had zero issues over several gigs now inc. some city rooms with 200+  

No perceptible lag and indistinguishable from cable with hot swapping tests.  It has a fixed cable emulation and a switch for active/passive pickups which acts like a boost too.

Just need to make a short link cable and find/make a suitable belt pouch.

If there was one flaw in design, it is that when the jack is folded into its storage position it obscures the charging/status light, so if you want to check you have enough charge it needs to opened up a bit.  

Not sure who makes the actual electronics and antennae but Fender seem to have partnered with a good one.
