Squier Precision Bass question

I  ordered a new squier classic vibe 60s precision bass  - Laurel fretboard ,Bolt-on neck: Maple
  online,   I Noticed in there pictures of the bass guitar I ordered  it has a skunk stripe, in fact most pictures online I have seen have a skunk strip on the back of the neck with this bass, when my guitar came I noticed mine dose not have the skunk strip , It just got me thinking if its some sort of fake copy, or have they put the wrong neck on the guitar -  everything else looks the same on the bass guitar , even says  crafted in  Indonesian.

Its from Amazon UK  ,  sold by Amazon, It came really badly setup , back bow , pickup screws loose , Its a cheap bass guitar,
I did a  truss rod  .adjustment which helped.

In theory it shouldn’t have a stripe if it’s an exact copy of a 60s one - Fender fitted the truss rod from the front on rosewood-board models from 1959 until the 1970s - so it’s possible the spec has changed and the website pics haven’t been updated or are showing older models.

If you’re not happy send it back and buy one from a not Amazon shop.

The Classic Vibe 60s (£400) is shown with a skunk stripe on the Fender UK site:

They do have a Classic Vibe 60s limited edition one in Aztec Gold that is shown as not having a skunk stripe:

The Classic Vibe 60s models should have a walnut plug at the headstock truss rod cavity and should show "Crafted in Indonesia" on the rear of the headstock along with a serial number prefixed by an I (for Indonesia) and with a couple of letters to designate the range and model before the numbers start.  Then again, the Affinity series are also made in Indonesia.

Amazon are know to stock models of Squiers that you don't see in the shops though.  I'm sure they were selling the Sonic range of Squiers by another name before the Sonic was released to replace the Squier Bullet range.  Did you buy it from the official Fender store on Amazon?

I got it from Amazon uk  Squier by Fender Classic Vibe '60s Electric Precision Bass Guitar, Laurel Fingerboard, 3 Colour Sunburst : Amazon.co.uk: Musical Instruments & DJ

Still more for sale on the site . I decided to sent it back  not because of the skunk stripe,   Its an ok guitar for the price but I have another guitar that I  want to try,   I think Amazon ships them from stored containers ,  It can  in bad shape pickups where loose and moving around  - back bow -  a few frets  buzz - no  damage  or marks .
