I don’t read it like that. His first reference to this was an opinion piece on AI music tools - and the apparent contradiction of MD having slagged off people who don’t have her level of craft, then flipping to promoting the very tools that might take food of the table of her and other talented musicians. (And he’s been at pains to say he things she’s a really good musician) 

The response he got was barbed and far more personal - and it’s that he’s responded to. 

And using the AI app in question to take MD’s music and create all the backing for that video made me laugh, because it also made the point that these tools take the hard-won outputs of creatives and spin it for the gain of others with no reward - it was a good way to make the point. 

It may be that the videos of his that get into your feed are this but he does more than that - including being entertaining. At which task he will appeal more to
some than others. IMHO etc. 

I've watched and liked some of his other content. 

I would just rather he sticks to that rather than exposing musicians he disapproves of. 

I’d rather my favourite bands only wrote songs I like too.

He's playing a character. The various bass forums are full of people who have met him in real life and by all accounts (and I do mean all) he's a thoroughly good chap.

I'm sure that's true, and at the end of the day I guess you need to be somewhat 'edgy' to get your head above the crowds. To be honest I like his bass playing, I'm just a bit irked that he seems disrespectful to other bassists at times. 

@Snags You say I've fallen for the act, but the act is also reality if that's what you choose to project. I get your point though

Click bait vid this morning "I'm getting sued" and it had over 50,000 views already. 

It is a shame that youtube pays more than gigging does these days, but he's adapted to the modern market and putting food on the table.

His humour suits me but I get that it won't be for everyone. But when humour or any art/entertainment is an attempt to aim at everyone you get Mrs Browns Boys, Michael Macintyre, and Coldplay. [/Shudder]

To be fair, it's not just bassists he's targeted in the past.  Remember Giacomo Turra? 
Annoying or not, the community needs someone like him - someone who doesn't shy away from calling out the bad eggs so people can steer clear of them if they wish.

Yeah but Mr Bean is an act.  I know it's an act, but doesn't mean I watch it because it's still annoying as hell!

Not that I mind this guy particularily, not my kind of comedy either, but he's decent bass player and he's doing well so good luck to him.

He grates on me in an Ashley from Coronation Street meet Jimmy Krankie kind of way, so I tend to give his videos a miss, even though I appreciate the kind of content he does and nothing wrong with calling poeple out that think they are better than everybody else.

I don't think I'm hearing anything new- John McLaughlin was doing Indian influenced fusion with Shakti in the 70's and a lot of her other music sounds like recycled Tribal Tech played 20bpm too fast so it loses all its groove.

Danny Sapko makes me laugh, but I'd like to see more positive content from people overall.

Her music is just a stream of riff nonsense. 'Yes, another technical ostinato..'. She has as much in common with Shakti as a Greggs sausage roll does with a Michelin restaurant.

I like Danny Sapko.  And this is cool (after a somewhat awkward opening few minutes)- Danny on bass and vocals, Andy Edwards on drums and the legend Brian Tatler on guitar.

I have watched that. Danny does a very credible job on bass and vocals although I feel slightly sorry for Brian trapped between the two class clowns. Andy used to be my son's drum tutor, bashing away on his IQ kit.
