Off the back of the AI thread.. I told chatgpt I had the below gear, and asked it to tell me what settings to use to get a tone suitable for recording the Crazy Train riff.
I don't know squat about what Randy used and I'm usless at using my ears.. so this was quite interesting.
Orange Rocker 15 head
Friedman Be-od
Boss sd1
Victory V1 Kraken pedal
Mxr 6 band Eq in the loop
Two notes Torpedo Captor x - using its cab sim software.
Monitoring via my RCF monitors.
Out of the available pedals it picked the Sd-1 in 'boost' mode with the amps drive channel. So I set my amp, pedals, eq to what it said. It gave me a bunch of info about how my gear compares to what was used on the original, and reasoning for its choices of settings,
It told me to pick a Marshall 4x12 with v30's or as an alternate I think it said creambacks.. cant remember, but It said use the sm57 slightly off the cone, and blend in a Royer Ribbon but back its gain down a bit.
It told me to cut some lows and highs in the captors EQ.
It also said to to roll my tone knob back slightly.
Anyway, this is the result.. probably let down by my inability to actually play decently lol.. the backing track I created with VST's for the drums and bass.
But thought it was an interesting little test.
The only easy day, was yesterday...

The AI is only knowledgeable because it searches for what humans have documented. If enough people spammed the internet to report that the guitar tone for Stairway To Heaven was Gary Page using a Gretsch Falcon neck pickup into a Boss Metal Zone boosting a Korg Miku pedal straight into a 1x8 cab without a power amp and recorded using an iPhone 6 placed 32 feet and 2/16 of an inch away at a 37degree angle then AI would regurgitate this with authority
