Jagstang trem arm size?

So, i’m going to get my Mij Jagstang in for a service after the bank holiday, so i thought i would get the vibrato set up properly - i’ve mostly always locked it down but fancy it working now.
Sods law, i couldnt find the trem arm anywhere probably because ive never used it since i had it in the mid 90’s and so i guess its lost as i cant find it anywhere at home.
I measured the “push in” hole on the vibrato stoptail which is 5mm so i ordered an aftermarket mustang arm which arrived today.
Problem is, it goes in fine then at half way stops.
I removed the grub screw but it still doesnt go any further in.
Is the shaft for the arm on the cigar bar tapered? Its not threaded from that i can see.
I thought the unit on the jagstang was the same as the mustang with a 5mm diameter shaft.

I think it is the one linked below, it has been used on Jag-Stang and has a step down

I have EXACTLY the same issue with a pop-in USA Pro Strat trem arm.  It doesn't go far enough into the block so stand way too high off the body.  Struggling to identify a replacement with a shorter pop-in section...

@Offset ;Is it locking in to place correctly but just too tall or is not not pushing down far enough to pop in to place?

Hi @GluedtoMusic - it appears to be the former.  It's locking in place ok but the pop-in part just seems too long.  It's a 2019 guitar BTW.  I'll post some pics shortly.

Yes, thats the same, i’ve got one coming from gluedtomusic although i’ve found my original one over the weekend - there must be a slight taper on the shaft - i actually filed part of my jagstang trem arm one down on one side so it doesnt have to be in a fixed position when the grub screw is tightened - in the fixed position i hit it strumming.

The American Ultra arm is about 4mm shorter where it pops in and the angle at the elbow is lower as well so the tip sits closer to the body but due to the nylon sleeve in the American Professional tremolo I could not fit the larger diameter arm into that tremolo.

You could check your specific guitar in case it doesn't have the sleeve but being not that old it probably has the same tremolo I tried the arm on.

That's the only other push in Strat arm I can see in their range at the moment unfortunately

Ah.  My trem arm has a 5mm diameter so that wont do it I suspect.  I guess I'll have to look for an aftermarket item...

    Many thanks.
