Wiring diagram help

What's Hot
Hi there, please can someone point me to a diagram for: 4 conductor HH, 1 vol, 1 tone. 1-bridge, 2-inner slugs, 3-both, 4-don’t care, 5-neck. Thanks!

(I'm assuming that's right, I've never had the guts to mess with superswitches!)

I don’t want a superswitch ideally as I’m poor and have a few decent 5 way ones.

You can’t do it with a standard 5-way.

The closest you can get is -

    Neck
    Neck + split bridge
    Both
    Bridge + split neck
    Bridge

The two split positions will sound more like what you want than you might think - the split pickup will dominate the mix because it’s lower impedance.

Thanks for that. Could you point me to a wiring diagram please? I know the colour coding of the pickup wires.

    I have messed. I recommend this well-known DiMarzio/Ibanez circuit.

    Bridge
    Inside (slug) coils
    Bridge + neck
    Neck (coils in parallel)
    Neck (coils in series)

Master volume, master tone, nothing else.

If a CRL or Schaller 24-contact switch seems too pricey, consider the 2502N PCB type. It does the DiMarzio/Ibanez circuit but, by definition, it less robust.
Loneliness is a cloak you wear.
A deep shade of blue is always there.

It’s the same as the standard Telecaster scheme, with the pickups connected to the switch rotors and the volume control to four terminals - because a standard Strat 5-way is identical to a Tele 3-way, but with extra notches for the 2 and 4 positions - then connect the coil splits to the unused terminals.

    1 2 3 4
     5 6 7 8

(1 at the neck end of the switch)

    1 - neck hot
    2 - neck split
    3, 4, 5 and 6 - volume pot
    7 - bridge split
    8 - bridge hot

If the wrong coils are selected in the 2 and 4 positions, reverse the hot and ground wires on both pickups.

Not sure how I missed that one, I think I just stopped when I found one which matched @longshins ;' requirements!

That could be useful if you had a hotter neck pickup, I could see parallel working well in that case.

Thanks everyone!  I’ve found that pcb switch on AxesRus and have had a few Ibanez HH guitars over the years and love this setup. I just need to match the colour codes of my Tonerider pickups to the Dimarzio scheme then I’m good to go!
