The one pedal you are most likely to never let go?

Even though it hasn’t been on my main board for a while, the DryBell Unit 67 is just brilliant. It doesn’t have the instant wow factor of some pedals like a fuzz, wah or modulation pedals, it’s more subtle, but epic at the same time.
I normally use it in front of a drive pedal or driven amp to just fatten it up, sometimes almost into fuzz territory. The eq and treble boost functions really help to keep it in the mix.
I also use it at home for these purposes, then when it’s late at night, if the amps master volume is a little too sensitive, I can use this pedal to have better control of the volume.
On top of this it’s a clean boost and sustain pedal if needed!
This is the one pedal I doubt I will ever sell.
   What’s yours?

    Timmy!!!

Got mine from Paul Cochrane direct almost 20 years ago. Remember I had to call him, in the US, to place the order. Was a lovely guy. Pedal has never let me down and I feel naked gigging without it.

Many overdrives have been and gone in that time, because usually I can set it down next to the Timmy and tweak and get 95% of the way there. And even then the Timmy sounds better. Can't even think of a good exception to that.

I used to think it was my Buffalo TD-X & Liquid Sunshine MKii, both of which I still own.

Lately (in years) it's a Kingsley Minstrel & JAM Delay Llama Xtreme.

About 30 years ago, they did a limited run of white Crybabys. Inside they are identical to the normal ones but white on the outside. I had to live like a pauper to buy it. I was young. Anyway, I still have it. I don’t use it much, but I’d never part with that. I also bought a Marshall Guv’nor a few months later. I’d keep the Crybaby over it because it would be harder to get another one.

I’ve got a white Cry Baby. I didn’t buy it 30 years ago. Isn’t it a colour option?

I think they have done a few limited runs of the GCB95 but normally the white one is a bass wah.

I’ve got probably four pedals I’ll never sell.

Keeley TS9 Mod Plus (It’s not on my board at the min, but I do seem to come back to it eventually. Quite pricey on the used market nowadays.)

MXR Classic 108 Fuzz (it’s mega. No boutique nonsense. Just a usable Fuzz Face)

Providence DL-4 Chrono Delay (been spotted on Gilmour’s board in recent times apparently).

Way Huge Overrated Special (not super rare, but not totally common. I have it due to the Bonamassa angle.)

And probably the White Cry Baby above. Hehe.

I’d say Barber Gain Changer - any guitar, any amp, it just sounds great.

Also Strymon Timeline - it took me a whole, but once those ‘creative’ delays are part of your sound it’s hard to imagine doing without.

About 30 years. At one point I had four of them - one on each board, a spare and a broken one for parts. Just one and the parts one now, but I’ll never part with the good one.

It is very cool - it’s the best-sounding single distortion pedal I know of, and the feedbacker can be useful once you get the hang of it, even though it’s not ‘real’ feedback - it’s essentially a monophonic synth oscillator that locks onto the last frequency it hears.

The bass one is white and actually seems quite popular with guitarists wanting a more guttural sound from a wah.
So if yours ever packs it in and the shell got damaged at least you could get a bass one and re-wire it.

For me it's the Neo Instruments Mini Vent II. I use it as a rotary simulator, a chorus, and sometimes as a tremelo, with guitar on its own, or with an EHX C9 Organ Machine. I could gig without it, but I wouldn't want to.
