What's Hot
Well, I really feel like a weight has just left my shoulders! Been carving away at this for the last year and a half and now it is ready: BFD3

OK where are the Fretboard forumites complementary or heavily discounted copies?
    ;)

Seriously though well done that badger, will be checking it out and maybe add to my Battery 3 and Superior arsenal at the mo.

@Drew_fx That's something to do with you then?! Sorry if I'm a bit slow.
I use BFD1 and I have to say (I've just had a quick look so far) that the mixer section looks far more friendly and straightforward than the version I have. The whole thing looks a lot slicker.

Hmmm... it seems there's no upgrade from BFD1!

Anyway, well done! I look forward to trying the demo at least!

  • Did you write the "rough rock" demo track?

Cheers dude! I'm not 100% sure what the score will eventually be with BFD1 and Eco I'm afraid. Keep checking though, because there may be some developments on that front.

Didnt check the gretsch one yet, the rough rock one really had hints of that solo stuff you posted back on MR a while back, the stuff that had a name related to the dark tower series.

Anyways some cool riffs in that one :)

    Cheers guv :)

Yeah the Gretsch Beasts one actually is a snippet of my Lands With Metal Beasts project, but I replaced the drums with BFD3.

I've got an album sort of in the works with that project, but between that, work, and Tacoma, my time is spread a bit thinly right now!!

OK, so is it worth upgrading? I've always found BFD a bit of a struggle compared to Superior (not a criticism, could just be me), sounds like they might have worked on that side of things?

Also, what are the supplied grooves and new sounds like?

    It is a different philosophy.
I have both, and several other libraries
BFD is closer than all the others to the dry takes you would get after just having recorded the drums.
Superior is closer to a specific idea of what a 'finished' drum sound is.

For hobbiests the latter is probably more appealing, usually because they don't have a really good idea of what you have to do to knock drums into shape for a professional release.
For professionals I'd say BFD is often the better option as you can use your existing workflow to get what is 'your drum sound'.

Looking forward to trying out BFD3.

We've tried to tackle that difference somewhat by having the customized kitpiece tech - basically you can load the dry "BFD philosophy" drums, but you can also load effected and pre-mixed versions, compliments of our analog modelled effects library. It works rather damn well.

    I use Addictive Drums myself.
