Ouch.
Saw them on the X tour, they were great. Imagine losing a finger (or the use thereof) on your left hand....*shudder*

Just started a thread on this myself in OT.

Maybe they'll join the two ... which unfortunately it looks like they've failed to do with Tim and his finger.

    Poor, poor sod.

  • LOL and sorry, missed your thread. Wasn't sure where to put it, OT or Music..

    Poor chap, indeed.

    Not good.

As someone who plays like they've got several fingers missing he has my deepest sympathy.

  • @skarloey knows I love the Tim/Kirk axis in INXS.. poor Tim - maybe he can get some function back. As we know Django, Iommi, Les Paul etc. all managed to continue after hand injuries... hopefully Tim can do something similar. :(

Tasteless - but a beautifully constructed gag....

I briefly contemplated something of a similar ilk - but happily you removed my moral dilemma....

Tim always struck me as a bloke whose right hand did most of the work. It packed a rhythmic punch as heavy as anything George Foreman ever threw in anger. Either way though it is really, really sad news.

One of the first- and greatest- of my gig going memories was screaming myself hoarse when he pause for everyone to scream at him when he used to break off in the riff in the middle of Never Tear Us Apart.

Oh fucking hell, I can feel a dreadful, dreadful pun coming on.

I really, really didn't mean that one.

    Someone stop me.....

    ...and get well soon Timmy.

  • Never Tear Us Apart on the Kick tour at NEC in the late eighties! A great showman!

One of the best shows I've ever seen!

  • Any sign of A New Sensation will hopefully be good news.

  • Biggest nightmare ever for someone who genuinely loves playing. Hope it eventually works out for him.

We should think ourselves lucky. I saw this after I posted my joke BTW :-)

    :(

    I can't even imagine what I'd do.

He can always take up bass.

"We… heh… seem to be a finger short."

"No, you brought two too many…"

Seriously, terrible for a guitarist and something that often crosses my mind when I'm using power tools. Hopefully he will find a way to cope and keep making music, whether on guitar or not.

Having had surgery on the ring finger left hand where tendon damage had to be repaired you try and adjust and work on ways of compensating.

New INXS documentary focusing on Michael Hutchence out soon, and it should get an airing on BBC2.

Kind of sad that he can't pick up a guitar and have a strum, and reminisce about old times.
