Fender Ron Emory Loyalty Parlour Guitar

What's Hot
paulkpaulk Frets: 318
I have been looking around for a cheap parlour sized acoustic and came across this:
http://www.fender.com/en-NL/series/artist-design/ron-emory-loyalty-parlor-rosewood-fingerboard-vintage-sunburst/

I can't get my hands on one to try it but am quite taken with both the design and price point. There doesn't seem to be much info out there on the web about this model so I am wondering if anyone here has had hands-on experience with it.

If so, what are your thoughts?

personally,  Id avoid like the plague.

No idea what the price is, but solid top's can be got for under £200,  all solids can be got for £300

Anything in similar price range you'd advise a look at Bertie?

I picked one up in Andertons and gave it a very quick strum, couldn't really tell TBH in the short time (sounded tight and boxy) but it seemed too chinzy to me. At that price point I personally want plain jane looks to ensure the money is going in the right places, this was all inlays and gloss finish.

I agree with Bertie, there are probably better options for the price, Mariner, Vintage, Sigma, to name some brands to check out their parlours.

Shouldn't a Ron Jeremy signature be a jumbo? Oh, hang on...

The local price here is 250 euros. It's something that will get used as a bit of a beater/travel guitar. As I've not bought a parlour before I'm really interested in as much input and opinion as I can get, so keep it coming folks (and thanks thusfar).

I tried it and wasn't over impressed. There was an alverez and a vintage paul brett that were way better imho.

You should take a good look at the Loar.

If it's anything like its big brother the LH-200 it'll be a peach.

That Loar does seem very well specced for the price.

They're from the stable as Recording King, but they have virtually no presence in the UK for some reason. I bought an LH-200 from Thomann and it's stunning quality for a £200 guitar.

be interesting to hear how maple stands up on such a small bodied guitar........... it has a "tendency/reputation"  to be quite punchy sometimes lacking in low end/warmth.......
