A fantastic condition 8 track home recorder from the 80's with matching mixing desk which includes the rare VU meter attachment which was originally sold separately to the desk. Comes with two original manuals in excellent condition and includes the 'A8-LR' amendment sheet. Also comes with 8 RCA cables for connecting the two together.
This item is UNTESTED as I no longer have any tapes to test the player with and it has been quite a long while since I last used it. The playhead appears to be in good condition (see picture four) but could need a service.
Selling because I no longer use it and it's just gathering dust and taking up space in the house.
As far as I can see everything appears to be in working order physically at least. All VU meters of the desk light up and show activity when I quickly checked a microphone through each input. All button functions of the A8 appear to be working visually. Both spindles and capstan activate when both outer tape guides are pushed up exactly how they're supposed to. All VU meters register input.
Only physical problems I can see is 4 of the VU lightbulbs in the A8 don't light up. Both units have light wear and tear but aside from that are in exceptional condition for their age.
This would be perfect for anyone looking to get those vintage analogue sounds and has a spare bit of time on their hands considering the potential maintenance involved.
Looking for about £300 but open to offers!
