That's an interesting collection - thanks for posting.

The link didn't work, with a bit of luck the one below should be ok.

    That works. Thanks!

I hear that the UK service centre, E&M Electronics in Milton Keynes is closing down.

    Who will be replacing them?

If never had the Helix but did have the Pod Go, I was always tweaking and could t get a sound I was happy with.
Recently picked up the TONEX One pedal and never been happier with my tone. After a faff of setting it up I’ve never tweaked anything except the volume.

I had a stomp and pod go at the same time. I thought I was being clever by selling the stomp and keeping the pod go due to the better form factor (for me). However I joined a project that required lots of clean and slightly dirty patches and I found the noise floor intolerable with the pod go, I tried everything I could think of but no good. To be clear this was doing solos with long sustaining, yet clean notes. I wish I did an a/b test with the stomp just to see if I had a faulty unit, it was really bad compared to the same type of tone using an amp.

  • I’m coming back to the HX world for the 6th* time with an inbound HX One arriving today.

It’s mostly been bought for reverb duties, but the option of having those esoteric pedals that I don’t want on my board permanently is useful too. I did consider another HX FX but don’t need that many options at once - same for the HX Stomp, it’s a good unit but not quite what I’m after.

*Floor at launch for a couple of years, then down to a HX FX, then back to a Floor, break until an LT, downsized to a Stomp…!  I do a seemingly regular ~ 2yr pivot from Multis to stompboxes, but I feel pretty settled on this pedal-favoured hybrid approach now for my needs and don’t expect to go back towards a multi again anytime remotely soon… I hope.

Couple of great amps and cabs there. But pants for us HX Effects users!

(my expectations were too high after getting reverse reverb AND the Nobels ODR in the last update!)

Super Reverb is cool but I'm not particularly desperate to get this update. My dreams of a Frusciante update (WH10, DS2, Micro Amp, Silver Jubilee) have to wait!

  • Ok the Super is really great. I don't think I care about the rest but will have a noodle on the 5150

  • Super is great, 5150 is great but the bogner! Oh my. I did some videos on each model if you fancy a look.

I play guitar and take photos of stuff. I also like beans on toast.

  • Well, the 3 new amps sound pretty great to me - I'll have a look at the update when I get home.

Absolutely get that. The only analogy I can think of in that scenario is, if you like documentaries about ancient Egypt, you're probably not gonna find what you want on Babestation of Nickleodeon. Same if you love John Mayer, the Badonk or Doom models aren't probably the best starting point. Hope that helps.

    Bingo

I almost always use the Deluxe reverb with a blue Vox cab when recording, and I have my go-to FX for the Stomp on my gigging board.

But I was also able to call up a decent and super-useful Mutron filter at a jam the other week - took under 10 seconds and literally helped inspire a song on the spot. That ability is absolute gold imo

  • My first thoughts were that the update was a bit meh, then I tried the Super Reverb at practice tonight & thought it was excellent :)

I've always struggled with the Fender amp models on Helix. I go there thinking they'll be the easiest amps to dial in, but they never are. So keen to give this new amp a go.

Having said that, I'm perfectly happy with the amps I do get on with.

I had a play with the Ecstasy model and found it fund until I created a preset with the Super for cleans. The Super with a drive pedal was is so much more me. The Bogner Shiva model is brilliant though, drop the volume on the guitar and the clean is lovely
