On lanes I have seen some presets with 4 lanes. How do you add these?

Put anything on the top line. Use the action button and drag the item down. Move to the mixer and drag down. Move to the split and drag down. Rinse and repeat for the lower path.
Set the inputs and outputs accordingly.

Have you checked that there’s no volume cut on the cab sim output?
I’ve noticed a lot of the higher gain guitar amps are very quiet even on full Master and channel volumes. Perhaps the bass amps are similar?

one of my biggest pet peeves with the helix ecosystem is the massively inconsistent volumes out of the amp models. It's really frustrating to have to massively crank the volume on one amp to make it audible, then switch to a different amp and get your ears blown out. Very annoying!

Apologies if this has already been asked/answered in this thread.

I actually got the Helix out today and recorded a song with it!!  Shock-horror, I know!

Anyway, I have a couple of questions; how do I best use Helix as an audio interface with a mic, and are there any good patches either from factory or downloadable that work well with acoustic guitar pickups?

I did manage to get the mic working but I wasn't able to pick up much apart from noise, with the gain turned up enough to capture the sound I wanted I also got a lot of electrical background hum/buzz/whine.

The DI patch worked ok with the pickup in my J45 but can't help feeling it could do better.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

There's a piece of Nerina in every song that I sing

    Bit of trading feedback here.

This. And the same goes for their OD/Dist/Fuzz pedal sims as well.

When I’ve used a mic to record (a 57), I just run into the mic pre model (sometimes with some compression). If I was going to use an acoustic guitar pickup, I’d do the same. Fx’s I’d do in post on the computer. I’ve only got an LT, so I have a transformer to change the xlr to jack before going into the return.

  • That "focus mode" thing is really cool. I like that idea a lot. Although some of the labels on the axes in that view don't seem as helpful as they could be.

Early reviews seem to say...solid but not mind-blowing?

I've watched quite a few too. Incremental gains, not necessarily ground breaking. I wonder if they regret not launching with Showcase, Proxy etc. Seems a bit light weight in terms of things to talk about.

There’s been a lot of discussion about how the product line has improved over its lifetime. John Cordy highlighted the difference between the 2015 Helix amp models and the current ones, and in the A/B comparisons between the Stadium and the older Helix models, I actually preferred the Helix :)

I was really disappointed when they announced it was going to be remodels of some amps, but not all, and no new FX pedals. That's what I'd get excited about - new stuff! It feels like a Helix 1.5, not a full sequel - better starting place for anyone getting into Helix, if we're being positive. A Mega drive 32x if we're not so positive.
