Yay for cheap computers

Well ..I want to use 2 external monitors, A- for a larger displays & B- I would like to have the Mixer section and recorded audio on separate screens.

I think I can do it with the HP but I need the dock station , which i ordered yesterday to try, only £10.00.

Ah...I think you'll struggle to do that with any laptop. There's always the Matrox DualHead2Go USB adapters, but I think they use rather more CPU than you want in a recording machine.

Maybe....Should have the dock tomorrow so will keep you posted.

Update....the dock works ok, output to bigger monitor but....need the larger 120 watt PSU for docking station, somethings not happening.

Also seem to have lost the dual monitor option from the laptop?.....will investigate.

So...I now have it working with the laptop as monitor 1 and a VGA as monitor 2, I just undocked the Studio One mixer and dragged it across onto the extended desktop...all good so far, except the laptop seems to have lost brightness?

You should be able to turn the brightness up using the hot keys. Failing that, you might need to check the HP support site.

update...Now have upgraded to Studio One Producer...all still running fine on the old laptop..

Still have a brightness issue...but...I think its just because the added monitor is a lot brighter.

Looking for high output PSU for the laptop docking station, then should have 2 good VGA monitors.
