Creamery Pickups

What's Hot
I am looking at upgrading my Classic Player Jaguar and have come across Creamery Pickups. I am looking at getting the Extra Width pickup.

Has anyone had an experience with them and know if they sound any good?

Thanks!

  • I had extra width jazzmaster pickups and they were excellent. I told Jaime what sound I was after and he wound some pickups to cater to my taste, the extra width jazzmaster pickups he now offers in his collection are based on my custom order.

I've gigged 3 guitars fitted with his pickups and the sounds are gorgeous, really sweet and organic sounding. Can squeal a bit with high gain but for that kind of thing you would fit something esle.

I fitted creamery pickups on my jazz master (now sold) and they were fantastic. Night and day to the stock pickups.

  • Reliable sources have recommended them... Personally think Mojo are the way to go

I had Creamery P90s in a Casino. Unquestionably the favourite P90s I've tried.

  • Cracking extra width bridge pickup for my Jazzmaster. Got a neck model to match it but wasn't a fan - very clear and bright whereas i'd grown to used to my uber dark Antiquity 1. Jamie was a gent and offered either a rebuild or money back. Sometimes slow to reply to messages and you can expect to wait the full 3-4 weeks for building and delivery but I guess that means he's busy and his wares are in demand!

Creamery classic rock vibe humbuckers transformed my Les Paul. Great advice from him also. Recommended.

  • Thanks for your help.

Looks as if I might be spending some money with him soon.

I have dropped him an email with some questions too.

@GavRichList I was looking at Mojo Pickups as someone I know has just ordered some, but they only have one pickup for the Jag. I will look into it a bit more though.

  • Marc @ Mojo will custom build anything you want; @Meltedbuzzbox had some Mojos in his AVRI Jag, and I know i've said this before, but when A/B'd next to my actual 62 Jag, they were so so close. Very impressive. The man is seemingly a genius. (which is why I have Jazzmaster ones on the way!)

  • the extra width pickups are just overwound.
Marc @mojopickups will overwind for you.

I personally dislike that the creamery charges for plastic covers and claws (£29) (£129 total)
Marc is £100 all in and offers a rewind etc etc if you are not happy
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

  • @GavRichList @meltedbuzzbox just fired an email his way. Will see what he gets back to me with. Thanks for the info.

  • I'd really recommend over wound alnico 2 pickups

Although saying that I thought the CP Jag pickups were alright

  • @meltedbuzzbox the pickups in it sound nice. I just fancy something a little warmer. I've had an email back from Marc and he is happy to do a custom wind for me. A friend of mine is waiting on some Mojo Pickups for his Jazzmaster so I will see how his turn out and will more than likely be spending some money at the end of the month.
