I bought this 76 strat about 1980/81 and it is my favourite gigging guitar.

That is lovely; if only it had a vibrato bridge.

My baby. 13 years old today. It's had new everything except body and that's tempting to be MJT-replaced, but it's always going to be my first guitar.

    That board is gorgeous.

original 70's body and rare 4-ply scratchplate along with a few other original parts.  neck is modern but worn to match the original bits

lefty JEL whitey replica.  the original is a 74 fender hardtail which got charvelised, pretty much followed the same process

I know these are SISO but nevermind

You guys should look at the new Highwood Strat saddles.
I've just ordered a set for my Strat.
    They look absolutely fantastic.

    Here are my two:-
    image
Old No.1 on the left, a 1990 Mexi Standard bought new for me by my better half when we had no money. Has been upgraded over the years and now has locking Sperzels, LSR nut, big block trem, early series Fender Lace Blue, Silver and Red pickups and Active Mid Boost.
On the right is Daphne Blue (OK, not at all original!) from the 2009 limited run of 500 worldwide and improved with N3's and 300K pots.
Honestly the best feeling and sounding US Strat I've ever had.

Here is my only proper Fender Strat, a MIM reverse headstock model bought in 2008 if I recall. Originally had a white scratchplate with reverse angled bridge pickup. I've modded it so it now has Tonerider Pure Vintage pickups, series wiring with greasebucket tone, a GK3 pickup and a shortened tremolo arm. Great for those Gilmour moments.image  I have to say it is probably the guitar I play least; I much prefer my partscasters and dare I say even my modded Peavey Predators!

    @Dean2371
Don't suppose you want to sell me the old white reverse angle scratchplate so you ?
Or maybe the whole guitar minus the black plate, pickups & GK-3 ?
I'm on the cusp of starting ANOTHER Partscaster that's kind of similar to that guitar but if there was a whole one (or at least most of one) at a good price that might just be easier !

    Just a thought like

The scratchplate is on one of my other guitars I'm afraid. I think I'll hold onto the black strat for now. If I do decide to sell it I would want it to go complete, otherwise i'd end up with even more strat parts than I have at the moment; must get round to sorting some out for the classifieds.
