    I really really like green.

I don't know if you can tell from my green Jackson and Tokai, and the green Strat I'm planning on...

I usually like white and natural as well... bit bored of black guitars. Pink and orange are underrated.

    I have seven white guitars.

    So it must be white.

Personally I would have said it was either black or green, however I only seem to have one green guitar and three black ones.

I really like tinted natural and trans black over a nice quilt, however if it has to be solid colours these are what I have and love.

I like black usually, like my Vigier
    image

My Steinie is TOO black, though, Black knobs, black bridge, black neck, black pickup covers (EMG), none more black. Too much.

    Hummingbirds look brilliant in black.
    Yes they do :).

It would have looked even better if they'd gone the whole way and put a black bird on the pickguard too.

You mean like a pic of Joan Armatrading or similar?

White....but in the end I bought a pink Strat, which I guess just goes to show that tone is far more important than colour.

Just bought a Telemaster body. Thinking Oxblood. Or Black. But probably Oxblood.

Probably Gibson Cherry Red, because it fades so beautifully.
I have a late sixties Es-335 that I bought from a USA dealer. When the guitar arrived I honestly thought that he had sent me the wrong guitar (because he had two available, and the other one was the quite rare Burgundy finish).
But no - it was the right one. I am just so used to seeing well played 335's which have faded into a completely different colour. If (like me) you have forgotten how dark Cherry Red is - just have a look at some Cherrys next time you are in the supermarket!

I think this is down to the guitar. Some colours suit some guitars. Rather like a Merc should always be silver, and a mini should be black or white.

So, I like LP's and 335's in sunburst, but not clownburst (love darkburst LP's). A Fender offset looks great in sunburst too, but I don't like maple necked strats in dark colours- the pastel shades are better!! LBP and CAR also awesome on rosewood neck strats....

PRS's and Suhr's should always have figured tops.

    Archtops- blonde or vintage burst.....

    And so on.

I'm partial to blue, green, black and Oly white. Can't be doing with flamed maple and the like and it's rare that a burst makes me go "wow".

I like a two tone tobacco burst the best. Off whites do it for me too.

Surf green strat with a maple neck!
Nothing else to add for me.

  • Sunburst for me, black on an acoustic does not work unless it's offset by special pick guard or other inlay and binding.

In Fender terms, gentlemen prefer blondes.
If it's a Gibson when Lesters have to be faded sunburst or gold, ES types should be in Cherry.
Anything else should be in some kind of brown, which is also acceptable for Fenders and/or Gibsons as a second choice.

That's about the size of it. Don't blame me, them's the rules.

Most days Blue then Red, then other days Blue then Red.

But I also like LPC Alpine/Arctic white and of course black.

Hmmm - must be cherry for me - that's my ES-330, SG Classic, Guild Starfire II and Epi Casino.

Also have an SG Special in black, a Yamaha SA-1100 in blonde/natural, and a Tanglewood Ovation-alike in a sort of orange marmalade colour.

I used to have an old ply-bodied Aria Pro-II stratalike that I tried various Halfords sprays on - it went from Candy Apple Green to metallic purple, and ended up in Ford Granada midnight blue...

What a glorious double-brace of instruments!
Do you find the 330 and the Casino are pretty much identical, sound-wise?
