  • Would this actually work live?

  • Is this just an extremely short delay pedal?

  • There's a Keeley one that does a similar thing, seemed to work really well when I had a quick demo on it last year.

  • I wish they didn't play those heavy metal riffs, I can hardly tell what the pedal sounds like so I can't.  Fuckin hell.

  • I haven't watched the clip but it sounds similar to the Keeley thing, I remember watching a demo of that and struggling to tell if that was on at times. tc trying to find endless ways of selling the same delay technology over and over.

Aye the 30ms or something.  Keeley also have the Memphis Sun pedal.  I thought the TC was just a very short delay.  Probably when you add in another layer of doubling you're just adding in another pre-set delay.

It doesent sound like a delay to me, I mean delay is part of it but I can definitely hear the difference in stereo spread.

If I had a two amp setup I'd give it a punt, issue is, what does it sound like into a mono rig?

Also the Keeley is meant to evoke old ADT techniques that didnt really sound like doubling, this seems like its actually trying to make a modern attempt at authentic doubling.

Yeah. I've only just watched it too. Sounds good on paper but that demo put me off big time.

  • My old BOSS BF-2 Flanger can do that 'bathroom' sound, Robert Smith used one on Siamese Twins with a Chorus back in the day. This can be done with any modern digital delay as well.

When he first switches the pedal on, the sound pretty much stays the same!

    Did you listen with headphones?

    The stereo field changes massively

The clip I am referring to is the guy with the Strat through the Super Reverb that @hugpot posted, at 0.21 when he switches the pedal on it's hardly noticeable. I don't think an audience would hear the difference at all at a gig.

I agree that there is a difference in the clip with the hairy dude playing metal riffs but that's a studio recording and an affect that can be replicated easily with plugins during mixing. Why would you limit yourself by recording a stereo track in the first place? it can really give you issues at mix down so I would prefer mono guitar tracks and add doubling effects as and if required at the mix.

if you are gonna say stuff like that, it calls into question almost all the gassing we do.
    I think you should apologise.
