I am not sure if it's 30kg or 35kg, but it's a big box, and it's a  heavy 1x12 combo
any tips?

Birmingham guitar show coming up, surely you could liaise with some folk on here if it's particularly valuable?  I'll be coming up from South Devon on the Sunday but that's probably not what you call South coast.

They have commercial contracts with the same couriers we have retail contracts with.

I used AnyVan.com to move a couple of studio desks.

Basically, you sign-up to AnyVan, then list the job you want doing, and various van drivers bid for the work. You can then select the company / price you prefer.

I found it really useful, as it was cheaper and more practical than hiring a van, paying for the fuel and lugging it about myself, never mind using-up a day travelling across the country.

However, these van companies will be doing lots of drop-offs and pick-ups - not just yours - as they do a circuitous route to make it cost effective for them, so it's not always the most flexible if you want to sort a specific day / time for collection / delivery.
    I think, therefore.... I... ummmm........

I've delivered 2x12 and 4x12 that have come through Interparcel etc. A single parcel can weigh up to 70kg but the dimensions are what affects it more than anything. Don't be tempted to blag the dimensions and weight, if they're under there's a chance of  being charged extra
